Building a Stronger Foundation for the Future

Drainage & Roundabout Improvement Project

Why We Started

Seasonal storms and heavy rainfall present an ongoing challenge to the monastery grounds, where uncontrolled stormwater runoff can lead to soil erosion, slope instability, and damage to the surrounding landscape. Recognizing the need for a lasting solution rather than temporary repairs, TBSO initiated a long-term drainage improvement project to better manage stormwater and protect the property for years to come. As part of this effort, the roundabout was also developed to improve vehicle circulation and provide a safer, more welcoming environment for visitors, especially during ceremonies and community gatherings.

Watch Our Journey

Bringing the Vision to Life

Through the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of supporters, the project gradually took shape. From excavating drainage channels and preparing the ground to installing filtration fabric, drainage pipes, and layers of stone, each stage required careful planning, teamwork, and hands-on effort. The improvements to the roundabout complement the drainage system while creating a more organized and accessible space for vehicles and visitors. What began as a practical necessity has become a meaningful investment in the monastery's continued development.

Looking Ahead & Our Heartfelt Gratitude

With the major groundwork nearing completion, we look forward to the next phase of improvements, including enhanced outdoor lighting for evening activities, a future TBSO sign to improve visibility and wayfinding, and thoughtfully planned landscaping and flower beds when the seasons allow. Together, these additions will create a more welcoming, organized, and beautiful environment for everyone who visits the monastery.

To date, this project has received a total of $6,840 in financial and material contributions, made possible by the kindness and generosity of our community. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has contributed through donations, volunteer efforts, materials, time, or support in any form. Every contribution, large or small, has played an important role in bringing this vision to life. May the merits of your generosity bring happiness, peace, and well-being to all.
